Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 29, 2026
Postava (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is an independent app built by Danylo Hodlevskyi, an individual developer operating under the brand HodlApps, based in Ukraine. This Privacy Policy explains what data Postava handles, why, and what control you have over it.
We’ve tried to keep this readable. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@postava.app.
The short version
- Your posture and session data never leaves your device. It’s stored locally and we can’t see it.
- Postava does not use your camera or microphone. Ever.
- We collect anonymous usage analytics and crash reports to make the app better.
- Subscriptions are handled by Apple and RevenueCat.
- You can request deletion of any data we hold about you.
Data stored only on your device
All of your posture readings, focus sessions, calibration baseline, session history, and statistics are stored locally on your device. This data is private to you. We do not collect it, transmit it, or have any access to it. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it.
Camera and microphone
Postava never accesses your camera or microphone. Posture tracking is based entirely on the motion sensors built into your AirPods (the same data used for spatial audio). No images, video, or audio are ever recorded or processed.
Analytics and crash reporting
To understand how Postava is used and to fix problems, we collect anonymous analytics and crash data through PostHog. This may include:
- App interactions (which features and screens are used)
- Device information (device model, operating system version)
- Approximate region (derived from IP address, not precise location)
- Crash logs and performance data
This data is used only to improve the app. It is not linked to your identity, and we do not sell it or share it for advertising.
Subscriptions
Postava offers an optional premium subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and subscription status is managed via RevenueCat. These services may process purchase-related data (such as an anonymous user identifier, transaction history, and subscription status) to deliver and restore your purchase. We never see or store your payment details — those are handled entirely by Apple.
For RevenueCat’s handling of data, see their privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
Feedback
If you submit feedback through the in-app feedback feature (powered by Featurebase), the content of your feedback and basic technical metadata may be processed to help us respond and improve. You can submit feedback anonymously.
Website
Postava is now live on the App Store, so our website (postava.app) no longer collects email addresses. Before launch it ran a waitlist, storing addresses securely via Supabase; we retain those only to email people about the launch, and we do not sell or share them with third parties.
If you contact us through the website’s support form, that form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which may process technical data (such as your IP address) to tell humans from bots.
If you’d like any email or message we hold removed, email hello@postava.app and we’ll delete it.
Your rights and choices
You can:
- Request deletion of any data we hold about you (such as a waitlist email or feedback) by emailing hello@postava.app.
- Opt out of analytics where technically possible, or simply not use the app.
- Delete all local data at any time by deleting the app or using the in-app reset options.
If you’re in a region covered by GDPR or similar laws, you also have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Children
Postava is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify users in the app or on the website.
